I have a very serious question for you. Are you ready for change? I’m serious. Are you?
With New Years approaching, the resolutions will be flowing. Social media will be flooded with “look at all the change I’m making” type posts. But how many of these people are truly ready?
What does it mean to be ready for change? Personally, I have a few questions I like to ask myself before committing.
- Are you prepared to be uncomfortable? Like really uncomfortable? This isn’t going to be all smooth sailing. So you need to be mentally prepared for dealing with uncomfortable things.
- Are you prepared to fail? Of course we want to go into this believing it’s going to be a smashing success. But what if it’s not? I wrote about failure yesterday (read it here). Are you mentally and emotionally prepared to fail? If it’s going to completely crush your spirit, then you need to step back. Now isn’t the time.
- Who are you making a change for? Is this something you really want to do? If you’re doing it for someone else, then you need to take a good, hard look at the situation first. It’s really hard to make a successful change when the motivation behind it isn’t personal.
So are you ready? It’s okay if the answer is no. You don’t have to be ready right now. The time will come when you are.
If now is your time, then get signed up for Goals101! We begin January 2nd.
